The road between Almuñecar and Salobreña, twist over a spectacular cliff. When you see Salobreña for the first time you get impressed due to the shape of its small, white painted houses, placed on a hill. Crowning the top of the hill there is a Moorish fortress, which seems to be watching all the coast.
Several neighbourhoods with narrow streets remember to the visitor the arab origin of the town: Albayzín, La Loma, El Brocal or La fuente: Go for a walk in Salobreña can become a pleasure.
A huge rock divides the two main beaches of Salobreña: La Guardia, vast, wild and peaceful, is protected by the sugar cane plantations; and El Peñón beach, more lively where most of services are located.
But Salobreña has also small nice beaches. A bit away from the town and placed between cliffs, you will be able to visit El Caletón, El Pargo or El Cambrón.
